Flagstones
Comprising of natural stone ,these highly porous flagstones are derived from quarries probably local to your area. In our own area flagstones are predominantly grey or black whilst in parts of Wales they come in a whole host of colours reds, grey, mauve etc ,and of course the Cotswolds which have their own warm yellow appearance. What ever area you live flagstones have many interesting shades just waiting to be revealed.
Left untreated flagstones can be dusty, difficult to clean and lacking in definition.
To restore and revive your flagstones we will employ a combination of chemicals and machinery to effect the removal of in ground soiling and contaminates, we will also treat areas of staining most commonly paint and glue etc. In most cases we can remove nearly all staining .
The deep cleaning process will have revealed a variety of interesting colours and shades that are inherent in the flagstones but not previously visible.
Once thoroughly prepared we will allow a drying time of 10 days approx.
Then we apply our tried and tested flagstone floor seal which further enhances the subtle colour shades without creating the artificial ‘plastic’ look when the incorrect seal has been applied.
The seal also has the added benefit of reducing or even eliminating shaling (when the top surface is splintering)and of course will protect your flagstones against common stains.
Please note: certain in correct floor seals are impossible to remove once applied.
Limestone and Travertine floors
Travertine and Limestone can be found in either White,Tan or cream; left untreated the stone is extremely porous and attracts soiling easily.
The application of seals tend to attract and hold dirt; eventually the floor will be impossible to clean .
The seals will require stripping and replacing regularly and all with the added inconvenience and cost involved.
Our low maintenance and easy to clean system will produce a very attractive finish without the need for sealing and will provide many years of service in terms of its durability ,and ease of cleaning.
We use specialist mechanical diamond polishing equipment and crystallisation of the stone to achieve a polished finish whereby the pores of the stone surface are reduced in size and the therefore produce a reflective and shiney finish (as the photographs below) in turn the tiles will be far more protected against water and other liquids and much easier to maintain , additionally the grout lines and tiles are further protected via the final application of waterproofing agents which will act to repel dirt and will not attract or hold soiling.
With proper care the finished floor will give many years of service and look good for far longer !

Slate Floors
Slate floors are available in varying sizes and thicknesses producing an excellent floor finish in both modern and traditional properties.
Slate contains a variety of colours and shades which are made all the more interesting by iron and ore deposits which add appeal to the overall appearance of the slate floor.
We can revive and restore almost any slate floor and enhance the slate floor appearance with the most appropriate floor seal.
